In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Spoleto welcomes a special cultural moment inside one of its most symbolic places: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. On Friday, 13 December at 5:00 PM, the Festival dei Due Mondi presents “Elevazione spirituale”, a musical and contemplative event that opens the city’s festive season under the artistic direction of Daniele Cipriani.
The evening features Mons. Marco Frisina, one of the most influential composers and conductors of contemporary sacred music. He will lead the Nova Opera Orchestra and the Choir of the Diocese of Rome in an experience designed as a moment of inner reflection. The performance will be enriched by readings from texts by Jean-Paul Sartre and Pope Leo XIV, creating a deep atmosphere of thought, sound, and spiritual inspiration within the Cathedral.
Entrance is free with reservation. Tickets (maximum two per person) will be available starting 5 December at 11:00 AM, while availability lasts, both online on the Festival’s website and at the Spoleto Festival Box Office in via Saffi 12, open during the Christmas season.
This is one of the most evocative events of the winter period in Spoleto—an ideal opportunity for visitors to experience the city’s cultural soul during the holidays. For more information, visit the official website: www.festivaldispoleto.com.
